My shopping list!
ESC/ MOTOR CAIPIRINHA KIT
2 METAL GEAR SERVO's
my basic tools
let's start building!
take the left wing
sand away any irregularities
repeat proces on right wing joint
make sure that they fit perfect!
dry test carbon rods
once they are COMPLETELY in mark the deepest position with paper tape
( you also have on the back of the wings 2 little vertical cuts which show you when you reach the deepest point)
Now put some cyano in the tunnel and on the tube, slide it in till you reach your paper tape mark.
same here!
next fase, put evenly glue on all contact places
and on the tube to
slide both wing halv's in one swift way to each other and make sure that you made full proper contact
okay? let it rest for a few minutes
now the bottom spars,
dry fit, put some glue at the bottem, slide in the carbon rod and push until its about 1 mm below surface
content of the plastic bag
parts for the GOPRO BOX
DRY FIT EVERYTHING!!, make sure that you have the proper direction of the parts!!
getting it in was easy! getting it out.........
fits like a glove! really !couldn't be better!!
remove splinters and any irregularities
spray it black
let id dry for mimimum 1hour
in the mean time ---> motor support
see the plastic bag- 3 parts
i made a extra support plate in balsa
dry test.... again... and then glue together!
glue in the balsa corners!
let it dry!
now we prepare the wing for the motor support, remove the Epp bridge in the split!
Okay, the camera box is dry! lets check the result
dry fit, make sure that it 's flush with the bottom, or , here you still can change the angle a bit if you want a more inclined view
let's glue!
make sure that NO glue comes in to the velcro tunnel.
I did it in 3 fase's, first the bottom, then the back.
then the side
let it dry !
This is how the standaard esc for the Caipinrinha arrive's,
now we intend to use it thoroughly for FPV, so avoid any possibility to noise, let's twist!!
now we intend to use it thoroughly for FPV, so avoid any possibility to noise, let's twist!!
separate wires
and twist them now, attention, the total length will be 1.5 cm shorter
this is where i intend to positon it, still in the airflow!
mark en cut out +- 0.5 cm foam
remember that balsa plate that i cut?
3 mm thick and ultra light balsa, this will make the motorbox a lot stronger.
trim/ sand the front to a spike
now for the brushless motor, this is the final turning direction , prop MUST be mounted printing facing frontside
letus check the turning direction and also calibrate the esc.
and mark the wires!
You want jello and vibration free footage?
then the next step will give you a breakthrough.
then the next step will give you a breakthrough.
In our hunt for vibrations even the brush less motor gets a good analyse!
our tools-> motor, esc /servo controller/ lipo batt and ofcourse iphone
YOUTUBE CLIP IS ON THE WAY WITH FULL EXPLANATION ON "HOW TO"
this mod will give you a dramatic improvement to ANY brushless motor that you use in fpv circumstances
okay the motor is balanced and turning direction is confirmed, let's mount the motor

final check
Glue in place!
connect esc and start cable managment!
place cover!
SERVO PLACEMENT
I had 2 HB65 CARBONITE servo's in house and upgraded with metal gears
check and close
set servo in midpoint
check the direction from servo arm, there is only 1 DIRECTION WHICH GIVE'S YOU 90° without mechanical or software (subtrim)adjustment.
No Go
No Go
No Go
No Go
PERFECT
CUT THE 3 REMAINING SIDES and sand the corners
Make sure that the servo does not make any physical contact with the EPP
TWISTING the servowire to cut down on noise!
Perfect fit
now prepare the other side, since i don't have th Tbs kit i have to adjust the length from the servo wire, in the TBS Caipinrinha kit this is already prepared for you! Ready out of the box!
dry fit
Your choice, TBS ROOKIE- or ......
TBS CORE = easy and clean power supply+ stepup + MINI POWER OSD
CURRENT SENSOR
MY FPV SETUP
I used 2 cell 3300 , just had to adept the plug to Jst and saved 20 grams doing so.
current sensor will end up below the lipo.
Cut out the epp for 4 mm
et voila!!
THE WINGLETS
Sand away any irregularities, in the mean time do the same thing on the trailing edge.
Which Winglet,is your choice? or do my mod!!
first make a copy from the winglets on cardboard, you will thank me later!
after My mod you will be able to switch to any winglet that you want!
These are 3 mm plastic stand-off's
drill a 3 mm hole through the winglet in to the wing,+- 1.5 cm deep, 90° ANGLE
Screw a METAL bolt or standoff ( something long) into the plastic standoff.
slide in in the pre drilled hole, with small pressure en keep the thing turning like a drill
you can perfectly check the positon thx to the Standoff/ screw
repeat the same process this time WITH glue
check
and now copy the positon in the other winglet
and thx to this mod you can use any type of winglet!
i used 3 mm aluminium bolts and microservo disc
Cutt off the outer ring, and sand flat
FIXING THE AILERONS
ATTENTION/ LEFT IS NOT THE SAME IS RIGHT!
this is the tape I intend to use BLENDERM! VERY VERY GOOD HINGE TAPE!!
DONT DO THIS
okay, let me explain myself,
okay, let me explain myself,
in most cases the wing is full of micro dust, so when you tape/ hinge your ailerons or whatever.... they come loose after some time, a good trick to avoid this is to clean your sticky area with some tape and , i usually repeat this proces 2 max 3 times, and so I did!
okay
hmm STRANGE, should be less not more
OKAY, what the heck is going on, well my mistake, the CAIPIRINHA carry's a special layer which give you a extra strong bond with tape and glue, not being aware of that I removed almost that complete layer)
you will see the difference later on between the left and right wing side!
LEFT WING! NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RIGHT WING
full black beneed the tape
fixing the horns and servo connection!
find the pre drilled hole.
cut through but do not cut away!
now use your solder equipment and strike in the cut
nice strong and a minimum from the side, just like you want it to get a perfect bond and support with your glue.
sand the bottom of the controlhorns
DRYFIT
I used DUBRO blockers, nice clean and neat!
FINISH AND FINE TUNING OFF THE WING
We still have on top and on the bottom those markings from placing carbon rods and etc...
lets close those up!
i use a ultra light "smooth like butter" filler and mix it up with the colour off the project!
i use a ultra light "smooth like butter" filler and mix it up with the colour off the project!
I closed up the wing for now with some black tape and will do some testing before a def close up the wing.
PROP BALANCING
PROP IS NOW COMPLETELY BALANCED AND WILL HOLD ANY DIRECTION THAT I POSITION IT IN!!
MARK C.G.
EZUHF INSTALL
I used the nearest position to servo center.( on the servo, shorter to servocenter =more accurate control)
Secure the GOPRO
Now the gopro fits like a glove in this casing, so i use a spinnaker strap ( ultrathin but very very strong/ kite shop) this goes beneed and around the GOPRO, like that i am able to PULL the GOPRO out of the casing!
And so we finally arrive to a nice small "carry a gopro" able wingship!
STILL TO DO
PLACE PHOTO'S BALANCING WING in all axes
